Persian Wedding
Photographer
& Videographer
Persian wedding photography and videography require more than beautiful portraits. The Sofreh Aghd, family formalities, ceremony traditions, and Aroosi reception each have their own moment, and the best photographs come from knowing when to direct and when to capture them. The goal is not simply to document what the day looked like, but to preserve the people, gestures, and family connections that gave it meaning.

Persian wedding photo + film, without competing cameras.
When photography and videography work from the same timeline, the ceremony stays cleaner, portrait time moves faster and both teams know which angle belongs to whom. Royaal Studio uses one creative brief for the entire day.
That means candid coverage when the moment is already happening, confident direction when a portrait needs structure, and a film team that can capture clear audio and movement without turning the wedding into a production set.
The moments we plan for before the Aghd begins.
The best ceremony coverage is prepared coverage. We ask about your Sofreh, your family, the order of the ceremony and any heirlooms or personal variations so the photography reflects your wedding rather than a generic Persian checklist.
Before the room fills: wide composition, mirror and candles, sweets, honey, bread, herbs, symbolic objects, florals and any heirloom pieces your family wants remembered without guests or phones blocking the frame.
The couple seated at the ceremony spread, reflections in the mirror, the officiant and the first-row family reactions. We build angles around the actual room rather than relying on a standard aisle position.
The sugar cones and cloth above the couple are short, layered moments. One camera protects the clean ceremony angle while another can look for hands, falling sugar, laughter and the relatives participating.
The exchange of consent often brings teasing, anticipation and a room full of reactions. The photograph is not only the answer; it is the expressions before it, the people waiting for it and the release immediately after.
Close detail and wider storytelling frames preserve the formalities and the sweetness of the honey exchange without interrupting the ceremony or asking you to repeat a real moment for the camera.
Immediate family, grandparents and priority extended-family combinations are mapped in advance. That gives you complete family coverage while protecting time for couple portraits and the reception.
Editorial when it helps. Documentary when it matters.
Royaal Studio combines clean, directed portraiture with candid event photography. The goal is a complete story: the designed details you spent months choosing, the people you love, the ceremony, and the celebration that followed.

Persian Wedding Photography Timeline
How much photography time does a Persian wedding need?
A Persian wedding photography timeline starts before the ceremony. Getting-ready coverage needs time for details, dressing and individual portraits; the Sofreh Aghd needs to be photographed before guests sit down. Family portraits may involve several generations, and the Aghd and Aroosi may take place at different locations. Allow for each part when choosing your coverage hours.
Getting ready and personal details
Allow time for detail photos, final hair and makeup, getting dressed, individual portraits and candid family moments. This is photography coverage, not the full hair-and-makeup appointment. Separate getting-ready locations need a second photographer for simultaneous coverage, or additional time for one photographer to cover both locations and travel between them.
Finished Sofreh, untouched
Reserve a clean window after the Sofreh is fully styled and before guests are seated. This is when we photograph the full spread, mirror and candles, sweets, honey, florals, heirlooms and smaller details without purses, phones or people entering the frame.
Persian family portraits
Large family groups move quickly when the combinations are written in advance. Immediate family may need only a short block; grandparents, multiple sibling families and priority extended-family photographs need more breathing room.
Couple portraits
Enough time for polished portraits without turning the wedding into a photo shoot. When the venue has strong sunset light, we often split this into a main portrait session plus a short golden-hour return later in the evening.
Aghd and Aroosi in two places
Do not treat drive time as portrait time. For a home or garden Aghd followed by a ballroom reception, the photography plan should account for loading out, Southern California traffic, parking, venue access and getting the team in position before the next event begins.
Example Same-Venue Flow
A schedule that protects the photographs without slowing the wedding down.
This is not a template every couple has to follow. It is an example of how Royaal Studio can structure coverage when the Aghd and reception happen at the same Southern California venue. Your getting-ready locations, hair-and-makeup finish time, ceremony length, first look, family size, Sofreh completion time and sunset will change the final plan.
Getting ready, details and individual portraits
Two hours for detail photographs, final hair and makeup, getting dressed, individual portraits and family moments. In this example, hair and makeup finish by 2:30 PM, leaving time to dress and photograph each person before the 3:30 PM first look. Preparation at separate addresses needs parallel coverage or additional time.
First look and couple portraits
A private first look when desired, followed by the main portrait session while the timeline is still flexible and before guests begin arriving.
Immediate-family photographs
Planned combinations are photographed in an order that prioritizes grandparents and anyone who should not be kept standing or waiting.
Finished Sofreh Aghd before guests enter
The room is photographed wide and clean first, followed by the mirror, candelabras, honey, sweets, bread, herbs, florals and any family pieces specifically identified during planning.
Aghd ceremony
Coverage shifts from details to people: processional, the couple at the Sofreh, Kalleh Ghand, the baleh moment, rings, signing, honey and the expressions of parents, grandparents and relatives around them.
Cocktail hour and optional sunset portraits
Guests mingle while we finish any remaining family combinations, photograph reception details and, when the light is worth it, take the couple out for a short second portrait window.
Aroosi reception
Grand entrance, speeches, first dance, dinner, Persian dancing, Raghse Chaghoo, cake and the full dance floor. Once the reception starts, the priority is staying present for real moments rather than repeatedly pulling the couple away.
The detail most couples miss: ask your planner or Sofreh designer what time the spread will be completely finished, not simply when setup begins. The clean Sofreh photographs can only happen after every piece is in place and before the room fills.

Persian weddings vary too much for a one-size package. Hours, crew size, ceremony and reception locations, guest count and deliverables are confirmed first, then Royaal Studio builds the proposal around the day.

Tell us how your Persian wedding is built.
Send the date, venue, guest count and whether you need photography, videography or both. If the Aghd and reception are at different locations, or you have multiple wedding events, include that from the start so we can recommend the right crew and hours.
We confirm the date before building the proposal.
Photography and videography are mapped to the same timeline.
Hours, crew size and deliverables match the wedding rather than forcing you into unnecessary extras.
Useful questions before you book.
Coverage options, ceremony audio, venue requirements and booking details.
Check availability once your date and venue are confirmed, especially for spring, summer and fall Saturdays. Booking earlier gives you more time to arrange the crew and coverage you want. If your wedding is coming up soon, send the date rather than assuming it is unavailable.
Yes. Coverage can be planned across a separate Aghd, welcome event and wedding reception, whether they take place on consecutive days or different dates. Share the dates, locations and approximate schedule for each event so the proposal assigns the hours and crew needed for each day.
Yes. Choose photography, videography or both, then adjust the coverage hours, crew size and final deliverables around your plans. That can mean adding getting-ready coverage, photographing an Aghd on a separate date, extending reception coverage, or including complete ceremony and speeches edits alongside the highlight films.
Guest count is only part of the decision. A second photographer is especially useful when you are getting ready at different addresses, events happen at the same time, or you want guest candids while the lead photographer handles portraits. Share your locations and schedule so we can assess whether an additional photographer would add useful coverage.
Yes. Video coverage includes professional ceremony and speech audio, including the spoken Aghd and speeches delivered in Farsi. Tell us which readings, speakers and family messages matter most to you. Highlight films use selected moments; include a complete ceremony or speeches edit in your coverage if you want those recordings in full.
Venue requirements vary by location and the services booked. Send us your venue’s vendor requirements so we can confirm the insurance documentation, any additional-insured wording, access rules and filming permissions needed for your event. Drone coverage also needs separate venue and airspace checks.
Contact us as soon as your plans change and share the proposed date and location. A date change depends on crew availability and the rescheduling terms in your agreement. A venue change may also affect travel, access and coverage hours, so those details should be reviewed before the revised plan is confirmed.
Your quote is based on the agreed locations, hours, crew and deliverables. Travel, parking, accommodation, additional photographers or videographers, and extra coverage hours may affect the total. Have any applicable travel charges, overtime rates and added deliverables itemized in the proposal, and confirm the revised cost before approving changes to your coverage.
